NBH Studios and A/D/O reflect on the past 7 months of year-long research seminar series Homo-sapiens, I hear you! – summing up the design academys ethos, goal and learning curves. 

Homo-sapiens, I hear you! is based on debating and reframing Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Each month, the seminars obscure traditional themes of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to give it new light from a modern-day perspective. Designed to challenge the repetitive formula of design conferences, Nelly states through the seminars she is, “challenging usual design conferences that are usually a man telling you about how he has made his chair.

A modernist approach to Maslow, with the aim to challenge design conferences in tow, will give some light into the rollercoaster Homo-Sapiens, I hear you has been!
