Worldwide FM is a freeform internet radio service that highlights “underground music, culture and stories from around the globe.” Founded in 2016 by DJ Gilles Peterson, longtime host of the BBC Radio program Worldwide, the platform features a rotating roster of international radio DJs and programming
APPROACH:
Nelly Boum Show is a monthly show which unravels a theme and explores it in a multiverse of possible new futures – we listen and discuss economy, politics, and other systems as we know it through music. Showcasing talents from Algeria, Armenia and the rest of North Africa, with caucasian music/experts and international talents, The Nelly Boum Show is a series of inspirational, quirky, funny interviews and brilliant music. Collaborators and music selections are specifically tailored for content creators, independent thinkers and makers of new worlds; the show is a plethora of unique talents and pluralistic thinkers.
OUTPUT:
The Nelly Boum Show was collaboratively developed with and broadcast by Worldwide FM from June 7th, 2020 to Feb 27, 2022. Worldwide FM is an award-winning community and platform which showcases subcultures and stories from across the world to explore and tie together the evolving diversity of global creativity. The station gives voice to progressive artists and cultural figures who fight inequality in all its forms – mirroring the values of the Nelly Boum Show.
The Nelly Boum Show was composed of 19 episodes, with 170 international, up-and-coming and well-known artists interviewed over a 1 year 8 month period.
