Nelly will chair two sessions at the International Astronautical Congresses Global Networking Forum in Bremen, Germany!
Both panels will circulate themes of ‘Orbital, Arts and Culture’. Firstly, E1.6 “Calling Planet Earth – Space Outreach to the General Public“- this session will focus on activities, programs and strategies for engaging the general public. This session does not include programs that are conducted within the formal education system. And secondly, E1.9 “Space Culture – Public Engagement in Space through Culture“. This Session is co-sponsored by the IAF Technical Committee on the Cultural Utilization of Space (ITACCUS) and the IAA Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) permanent committee and will focus the activities of institutions such as museums, space agencies and non-profit organizations involving space that engage the cultural sector. This session focuses on the process, critical thinking and methodologies underlying space education and outreach events. It does not include programs that are conducted within the formal education system.

E1.9 Space Culture panel will be held on 4th October 2018, at 14:45 in the CCB Scharoun
The Committee for the Cultural Utilisations of Space (ITACCUS) will present a panel with a selection of its current members to challenge the traditional view that space activities are owned by national space agencies and the private sector. This panel will include a series of performative presentations to show how artists and cultural practitioners have always shaped the way we envision our future on Earth and beyond.
Other members of the panel include Bernard Foing from ESA, Nahum Romero Zamora from the KOSMICA Institute, the director of Lumen Studios Melanie King, artist Aoife Van Linden Tol and finally curator Rob La Frenais.
