A part of WeTransfer’s executive team as Chief of Experiences for a decade-long partnership

TASK/CHALLENGE:

From 2012 to 2022, working as part of WeTransfer’s executive team as the Chief of Experiences during their decade-long partnership, Nelly Ben Hayoun Studios was tasked with developing the platform user experience and innovation department making it a trusted and respected space for storytelling and the creative community.

APPROACH:

As described by former WeTransfer CEO and founder, Bas Beerens “Nelly was our creative catalyst, helping us find new ways to bring our creative community of users closer together.” Nelly Ben hayoun Studios acted as the innovative department for WeTransfer from 2012 to 2022.

OUTPUT:

During the tenure of Nelly Ben Hayoun as executive in the company, Nelly Ben Hayoun worked to accomplish accreditation as a B Corp Certification for WeTransfer - which verifies the company meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability whilst committing to positively impact all stakeholders – workers, communities, customers, and our planet.

Nelly Ben Hayoun Studios contributed to the founding, development, funding and brand partnerships of the editorial branch of WeTransfer - named WePresent.

During WeTransfer’s move to the USA, Nelly Ben Hayoun worked on developing partnerships with US brands, securing partners such as McSweeneys, Airbnb, Pentagram and multiple universities.

During Ben Hayoun-Stépanian's tenure at WeTransfer the company grew its client base from 10,000 users to 90 millions active users a month.

Nelly Ben Hayoun Studios developed the first educational branch of WeTransfer with the establishment of University of the Underground, founded in February 2017 as a charity to bring generations together to democratise access to public institutions and trigger changes and critical reflections through the use of creative and experiential practices.

Later, Nelly Ben Hayoun Stépanian founde the charity the University of the Underground, for which WeTransfer became a Founding Partner. The unique master’s program developed by Nelly Ben Hayoun Studios dovetails with WeTransfer’s long term commitment to supporting arts and education.
