Hackney Picture House_ISO film Preview_SOLD OUT

Nelly Ben Hayoun will be speaking and showing a preview of the International Space Orchestra feature film at Hackney Picture House, as part of the launch programme for the Open City Doc Festival, London.

With Q&A chaired by Oliver Wainwright and Chris Hatherill

Oliver Wainwright is the architecture and design critic of the Guardian. Trained as an architect, he has worked for a number of public and private practices, from Design for London to OMA/Rem Koolhaas in Rotterdam, and written extensively on architecture and design for a wide variety of international publications, including Icon and Domus. He is also a visiting critic at several architecture and design schools.

Chris Hatherill is a freelance journalist and founder of super/collider <http://www.super-collider.com> – an independent agency which explores and promotes science through the creative industries. Upcoming projects include an exhibition of their 2012 trip to Sweden observe the Transit of Venus and a printed project about modern mysteries.

International Space Orchestra tells the story of the incredible journey that Ben-Hayoun took with the employees of NASA Ames Research Center and the SETI Institute in California during 2012, in setting up the International Space Orchestra, and the production of the space opera they made together. The film contains interviews with scientists from NASA, as well as the final production of Ground Control: A Space Opera, it features musical contributions from Damon Albarn and Bobby Womack, and Penguin Café (Arthur Jeffes).
