Dr. Nelly Ben Hayoun Stepanian will teach at International Workshop Week at the Institute of Industrial Design at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel, Switzerland on the 5th – 9th October 2020.
The FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel Switzerland educates the next generation of critically minded and accomplished designers, artists and educators. The FHNW Academy of Art and Design understands itself as a pulsating hotbed, as a catalyst of culture and politics, and as a seismograph designed to identify, delineate, and define socially relevant fields in art, design and science, in theory as well as in practice. Based on the critical perception and reflection of its own mode of seeing and understanding, the Academy sees its role in the task of meeting the challenges of the times by setting out and promoting a wide range of creative spaces and offering its students a promising professional perspective.
The International Workshop Week is a bi-annual event at the Institute of Industrial Design, that brings together practitioners who expand the understanding of design, blurring disciplinary boundaries and bringing insights about the hybrid nature of their practice. In previous editions the programme hosted (among others): Nina Paim and Corin Gisel from common-interest, Hackers and Designers, Rahul Bhargawa from MIT Center for Civic Media and Kim Collin from Industrial Facility.
