Nelly took part in The Next Web Conference in Amsterdam and her talk was live streamed on TNW’s website. It is now available to watch here.
The Next Web is one of the world’s largest technology websites and annual series of conferences focused on new technology and start-up companies in Europe.
Talking about her design work and research through practice as a Designer of Experiences and the challenges she faces, trying to defy conventional research and educative methods and exploring how to support the freedom of learning. She shares the complexity of her large-scale projects (The International Space Orchestra, Disaster Playground and the University of the Underground) and introduces members of the public to her ‘hammering and total bombardment’ philosophy.
Nelly also poses questions about diversity and culture:
“How can we support a new diversity? How can we have better gender representation on a leadership level? I’ve been told we need to start diversifying education with K-12. Young kids, for sure. But you also have to do it on the back end.”
